The bell for classes to begin rings promptly at 4:30/6:30.  The front door of the school is locked 5 minutes after the bell rings.

Children arriving late must be accompanied by an adult and ring the outside bell for entrance into the building.

Dear  Parents/Guardians and Children,

The summer months are here and with these months we encounter changes in the weather, our schedules, our eating habits, our bedtimes, and so on.

Changes will come all too soon in the fall. The hectic pace of getting back to school, changing bedtime schedules, frantically looking for sweaters and jackets, packing school bags and lunch bags will reign once again.

Changes will come, also, to the PREP office at St. Eleanor.  I have resigned my position as Director of Religious Education at St. Eleanor and taken a position of DRE much closer to home at St. Agnes in Sellersville.  This is a decision based on much thought and prayer.  This decision is a very personal one and one I feel is necessary for myself and my family.  My five years at St. Eleanor have been both rewarding and gratifying.  I have been quite fortunate to have shared faith with many wonderful children and their families.  It has been a great pleasure to have worked with and prayed with the dedicated catechists who serve the families of this parish with great commitment and joy.

St. Eleanor parish is blessed with families who have an enthusiasm for faith and the desire to share their faith with their children and each other.  I pray that this faith-filled spirit will continue and be nurtured.

Often we say that we never know what God has in store for us.  We can, at times, take this quite literally.  Our parish program was blessed this year with the addition of Mrs. Anna Olsen to our staff as Coordinator of Religious Ed. and we find ourselves saying farewell to Mrs. Olsen, also.  Mrs. Olsen has been named Coordinator of Religious Education in a parish much closer to her home.  It is a wonderful opportunity for Mrs. Olsen to learn and grow professionally as she leads families at Queen of Peace in Ardsley to a greater love of God.  She has been a wonderful asset to our parish program at St. Eleanor generating enthusiasm and creativity in our ministry for both catechists and children. We wish her well.  Our prayers and hearts go with her.

farewell.jpgWe are delighted that Mrs. Kathy Gallagher will continue to be the familiar face at the door and desk of the PREP office.  We are equally delighted to welcome Mrs. Kathy Schmitt to the position of DRE at St. Eleanor.  Mrs. Schmitt is currently the Vice Principal at St. Eleanor School.  Her background in teaching and faith formation is a wonderful asset to this parish program.  Our prayers are for a year of continued cooperation and a deepening of faith for all members of PREP.

I appreciate the kindness you have afforded me during my five years at St. Eleanor.  I take with me many fond memories.  May God continue to bless your family as you walk your journey in faith together.

In gratitude,

Mrs. Anne Hayes

Dear Parents/Guardians and Children,

Welcome to the warmth of God’s sun and the beauty of his creation as it unfolds in this season of vacations and down-time.

My Summer Blessing
Walk along beside me, Jesus, as I begin the months of summer.
As I work, play, enjoy family time and friendships,
may I hear your voice within me,
guiding me toward all that is right and good.
Give me faith in your presence, knowing that YOU walk beside me
in everything I do.
Gracious and loving Jesus, thank you for the gift of summer.
May the warmth of its sun and the beauty of its light
Remind me daily of your love for me.  Amen.

Mrs. Olsen, Mrs. Gallagher and I thank our parish families for a most enjoyable year.  As a parish program which boasts over 800 families and nearly 1200 children, we are proud of the positive efforts of our children, parents and, most of all, our catechists.

We are in the midst of compiling registration information for our 2008-2009 year.  We encourage parents who have not yet registered their children to do so as soon as possible.
As a reminder, our tuition is as follows:
$135 for one child, $240 for 2 children and $305 for 3 or more children.
A late fee of $60 will be assessed to each family registration after June 1.
This information has been available since March and our hope was to have
  registration completed by May 31st.

We will mail class assignment information by late August.  This information will be mailed ONLY to children for whom we have completed registration information and payment.  Please advise the PREP office if your family situation requires an extension of tuition payment.
Our goal, in placing children in classes, is to maintain a balance of girls and boys and keep approximately 20 children in each class.  It is difficult for us to commit to placing children in classes with their school friends or carpool riders.  Placing nearly 1200 children is quite a task in itself.  We ask parents to be considerate of this and suggest to their children that they try and   make new friends with fellow PREP students and parishioners.

We are pleased to have had many parishioners come forward to serve our PREP classes as catechists.
It’s a good feeling to know that, as we begin the summer months, only a few classes are still in need of adult catechists.
Please consider your call to serve God by sharing your faith with the children of our parish.  We do have a few catechist positions available.  Thank you.

We will publish our 2008-2009 PREP calendar in early August.  Dates for sacraments and all PREP prayer services will be available at that time.

We wish you a happy, safe and most enjoyable month of June.

Mrs. Anne Hayes
