Saint Eleanor Parish Religious Education Program for children of school age exists as a sacred connection to all the children of the parish and their families.
In this program, young parishioners experience the rich traditions of our Catholic faith.
Volunteer catechists partner with parents to nurture their children’s understanding of God and His abiding presence in their lives.
We hope that the time and energy families invest in religious education result in the children becoming more confident in the knowledge and practice of their faith.
Supported by faith-filled parents, dedicated volunteer catechists, full-time teachers, priests, deacons, and the Saint Eleanor community of faith, may our children enjoy their learning and grow to appreciate the gift of their Catholic faith.
Welcome to everyone, especially the children!

Dear Parents/Guardians,
It is very important that we remind everyone of the PREP dismissal procedure. In the past two weeks we have had incidents of near car collisions and much worse, reports of adults and children almost being hit while walking to or leaving the building. The parking lot is only as safe as each person strives to make it so.
While parking your vehicle and coming to the pavement for your child/ren might be inconvenient, we cannot allow children to walk or run to cars in the midst of so many vehicles arriving or leaving the lot. Each child must be with an adult when they walk through the parking lot. CHILDREN MAY NOT WANDER ALONE THROUGH THE LOT LOOKING FOR THEIR RIDE.
The procedure is strictly for the safety of each child and adult. We ask everyone to PLEASE be careful, patient, and respectful of one another.
Classroom Dismissal Procedure
Levels 1 thru 3:
- Children remain standing at their desks (chairs pushed in) ready for pick-up.
- Parent comes to the classroom for child.
- Parent enters classroom via back door and walks along closet side of room.
- Child leaves desk and joins parent at front of classroom.
- Both leave via front door.
- Children stay with parent/adult while walking to vehicle. No running or playing in the parking lot.
- Catechists must see who is picking up each child. Adults may not reach into a classroom and take a child. They must follow the above procedure.
- Children of catechists may leave their classrooms when all others have been dismissed/picked up from their class.
Levels 4 thru 6:
- Catechists dismiss students according to the 20 – 40 – 60 second rule.
- Students WALK upstairs (stay right on the stairway)
- Remain in the lobby or on the pavement until parent comes for you. No student may leave the pavement or walk through the parking lot without an adult.

Healthy Environment Update
The St. Eleanor Parish staff takes seriously the responsibility of maintaining a healthy environment for all children who attend PREP classes. As we come together as a faith community, it is important to take certain precautions, especially as flu season approaches. A child who is sick or is exhibiting contagious symptoms (fever, vomiting, etc.) should NOT attend PREP class. A child who has been sent home from school due to illness, or who comes home from school ill, should NOT attend PREP class. We appreciate your cooperation in this matter. Thank you and God Bless!
